Materials Needed💌
First things first, gather your materials. You’ll need some patterned paper that speaks to your style (I went for a funky floral print), sturdy base paper, glue (the stickier, the better!), paper clips, red cardstock, a hole punch, and small brads.
Crafting Your Mailbox📬
Alright, let’s get started! Lay out your base paper and cut your chosen patterned paper to fit over it. I found it easier to fold the sides of the patterned paper before gluing – makes for a neater finish, you know? Once you’ve got those folds just right, add a good amount of glue and stick that patterned paper onto the base. I used paper clips to hold everything together while it dried – worked like a charm!
Now, here comes the cute part. Grab your red cardstock and cut out a sweet little flag shape. To give it that authentic mailbox vibe, use a hole punch to make a hole at the bottom of the flag and on the side of your mailbox. This is where the magic happens! Take a small brad and secure the flag to the side of your mailbox.
And hey, the final touch – add your own personal flair! Scribble your name, doodle some designs, or paint it with your favorite colors. Make it yours, make it unique!
Voila! You’ve got yourself an easy DIY mailbox that’s Pinterest-worthy and totally one-of-a-kind. We had an absolute blast making these, and I hope you do too. It’s such a cool way to add a bit of personalized charm to your classroom.
Happy crafting, my friend!
